FROM THE BEGINNING…
Coenraad Van Der Merwe's aviation journey began in his early years in South Africa, where he developed a profound love for airplanes. From a young age, he enthusiastically built model airplanes, fueling his passion for aviation. In 1993, he set his sights on the United States, where he embarked on an incredible adventure in the world of aviation.
In 1997, Coenraad started a significant project, building an RV6A Vans Aircraft kit plane. During this endeavor, he received invaluable assistance from Tom Hallendorf, who played a crucial role in the project's success. Additionally, through Tom's introduction, Coenraad was connected with Lycon, a company that custom-built an engine to their specifications. The results were nothing short of extraordinary, solidifying Coenraad's love for aviation even further.
What is yet to come
As Coenraad looks to the future, he plans to document his aviation adventures on a YouTube channel. His journey in aviation, filled with dedication, craftsmanship, and the joy of flying, serves as an inspiration to aviation enthusiasts around the world.
